Last night, I had the fabulous opportunity to opportuity to attend a Graco Safety event for the brand new car seat, the SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 currently sold ONLY at Babies R Us.
I have to say attending the event opened my eyes to many things. ALOT has changed in the car seat world since my last baby was born. I do not know this baby's name but I do know SHE LOVES GRACO. (I am sure of it. We always used Graco with our other kiddos!)
DID YOU KNOW?..... it is now recommended that your baby face the back seat until the ago of 2 in ANY car seat. American Academy of Pediatrics recently changed this suggestion in 2011. When I first found this out.....I was so perplexed. I had so many questions. My main question was what if your babies were long just like mine were by the time they were one. It seemed to me, at the age of by one it would be an uncomfortable ride for those growing legs. All of my questions were address last night.
Our host, Erica, has a a local car seat safety expert go over the current rules and regulations of taking your baby on the road. Among the presentation of how to install the car seat we also went over the many features of the SnugRide Clock Connect 40. (but, more on that later) Here are some things I learned or relearned last night.
1. No toys, or car seat adaptions should hang or be in the carrier.
2. The harness chest clip level is to be kept with the armpits, the position of the straps at, or above, the shoulders.
3. Toddlers are more than 5 times safer riding rear facing in a car seat.
4. Infants have little head control and because of this reason should be kept at a 45 degree angle.
5. It is very important to register your car seat to stay up to date with currenet recalls and/or problems.
6. The middle seat is the safest place for your youngin.
So, with all of those things in mind, I almost did not ever want to get into the car EVER with this baby. Thanks for Graco I feel a little more confident of hitting the road.
This car seat is the cadillac of car seats. From it's plush seating to it's adjustable base so the car seat grows with your child I know Baby girl will be riding in style, comfort, and safety.
Here are some key selling point of this car seat. I use to think, a car seat is a car seat. NOT SO MUCH! This car seat is pretty cool.
1. 4-40 pound weight limit- on average that is a full 2 years.
2. Base adjusts with 8 recline positions for the most leg room of any rear-facing car seat for baby comfort.
3. The Simply Safe Adjust harness systems allows parents to adjust the harness and headrest with just one hand to fit their baby's height as their aby grows, all WITHOUT HAVING TO UNTHREAD the harness for extra convenience.
4. Click Connect attachment which allows parents to easily transition their babies from the car seat to the stroller through a simple, but secure, one step "click"
The SnugRide Click and Connect 40 is the first infant car seat to hit the roads that truly is for ages newborn to two years of age.
All of the social media personalities went home with their very own Graco SnugRude Click Connect 40. The baby was delighted. I just know it.
I had a ton of fun last night and walked away a better mom and smarter about safety in the car. Thank you Erica for being a wonderful hostess. Your food was fabulous. The company was amazing. The night was wonderful. Each attending social media writer received a car seat as compensation for writing this post. We are truly thankful!
What do you think about the new suggestion to keep up to 2 year olds facing the rear seat?
The Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 – the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that actually grows with your baby from four pounds all the way up to 40 pounds. The car seat is designed for a parent on the go. The infant car seat can be easily removed from the base and used as a carrier when the infant is small, providing portability and convenience so you can easily move your infant in and out of the car without disturbing them.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2. Graco set out to make this product so parents can keep infants rear facing longer while still keeping them comfortable.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Graco. The opinions and text are all mine.
